EICR remedial work in Wandsworth

Fixed-price consumer unit replacement and remedial work across SW11, SW12, SW15, SW17 and SW18, from Battersea mansion flats to Tooting and Earlsfield terraces. Send the failed report from whichever firm carried out your inspection, and we'll price it within the hour.

No call-out charge applies to a board job. A deposit reserves the slot, the balance is payable once the work is done and certified, and the whole job is covered by our money-back guarantee.

How long have you got?

The 28 days run from the date of the inspection, not the date the report reached you.

Wandsworth's housing and its EICR problems

Private renting is a large part of Wandsworth's housing. Much of the stock is Victorian, built in two very different forms, and a lot of new riverside building has been added around them.

Battersea mansion blocks

Prince of Wales Drive, Albert Bridge Road and the roads facing Battersea Park are lined with red-brick mansion blocks from around 1900. Flats in these blocks were usually rewired at some point, often decades ago, so the reports tend to show an older board without RCD protection rather than original cabling. Earthing and bonding faults are also common. The meters are frequently in a basement meter room, and the block may have its own rules about contractors, porter sign-in and working hours. We ask for those rules before we book, and plan the cable route so that nothing is chased into the communal hall.

Victorian terraces from Clapham Junction to Tooting

Between the commons, around Northcote Road, and on through Earlsfield, Southfields, Balham and Tooting, the streets are Victorian terraces. Many are now two flats, one up and one down. The usual findings are a fusebox or early board with no RCD, missing main bonding and kitchen or loft extensions fed from the nearest circuit. The upstairs flat may also take its supply through the downstairs hallway.

Estates and newer blocks

Roehampton's large post-war estates and the newer towers around Nine Elms are managed by the council, housing providers or managing agents, who control the riser cupboards. We agree access and isolation with them first.

Licensing in Wandsworth

Wandsworth introduced additional and selective licensing on 1 July 2025. Selective licensing covers Furzedown, Tooting Bec, Tooting Broadway and South Balham, with East Putney, West Putney and Northcote listed from April 2026. Check the council's current scheme for your address.

A mansion block or shared hall can add time on the day, and occasionally needs the network operator. We price what the report shows, and tell you in writing before we start if anything changes it.

Questions from Wandsworth landlords

My flat is in a Battersea mansion block with a porter. Can you still do it in a day?

In most cases, yes. We read the block's contractor rules in advance and book through the porter or managing agent. If the main switch is in a basement meter room, we allow for that too. The board change itself is usually a single working day.

I let a flat in Tooting. Do I need a licence?

Possibly. Wandsworth's selective licensing covers private lets in Furzedown, Tooting Bec, Tooting Broadway and South Balham, and additional licensing covers some shared homes. Check your address on the council's current scheme. A satisfactory EICR is worth having in hand either way.

Will you quote from another firm's EICR?

Yes. The price is based on the items your report lists, whoever produced it, and comes back in writing within 60 minutes.

Can my Wandsworth agent manage the job with you?

Yes. Agents can hold one account for inspections and remedials, with monthly invoicing and the evidence filed per property, at the same trade prices as every borough. See the agents page.
